Propel and GiveDirectly $100 Cash Help: Who Qualifies and How to Claim It
Propel and GiveDirectly are offering a one-time $100 cash payment to some families who missed their October SNAP deposit. The money is meant to help households buy groceries while they work to restore their benefits.
This is not a sweepstakes, contest or lottery. There is no entry, drawing or application. Eligible Propel users receive a message directly in the app.
Who Can Get the $100?
To qualify, you must be an active Propel user who signed up by October 31, 2026, received a September SNAP deposit, missed the October deposit and used the app on November 1 or November 2.
Eligible users must open the Propel app to see the claim message. Payments are first come, first served and stop when the available funds run out.
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Propel account | You must have signed up for Propel by October 31, 2026 |
| September SNAP deposit | You must have received your September deposit |
| October SNAP deposit | You must have missed your October deposit |
| App activity | You must have used the app on November 1 or November 2 |
| Claim method | Open the Propel app and claim the offer through the in-app message |
| Payment | One-time $100 payment, while funds last |
Not every eligible user will receive the payment because funding is limited. If you do not see a message in the app, you are not eligible for this round.
Which States Are Included?
The program is available in most U.S. states, but not all users will qualify.
| State situation | What it means |
|---|---|
| Louisiana and Iowa | Excluded because of data limitations |
| Florida and Maine | Propel cannot verify September deposits, so it targets users who missed October’s deposit, regardless of September status |
| Tennessee and West Virginia | Limited deposit visibility means many users may be ineligible |
| Other states | Recent EBT portal changes may limit deposit visibility for some users |
How to Claim the $100
There is no separate application, sign-up form or website claim page. The only way to claim the money is through the Propel app.
If you are eligible, open the app and look for the message about the $100 payment. If you saw the message but did not tap it, the deadline to accept that round has passed.
Propel says it will not contact users by text, phone call or social media to offer the payment. Be cautious of scams claiming to provide the $100 outside the app.
When Will You Receive the Money?
Eligible users can choose a virtual or physical GiveCard.
| Card type | Delivery time | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Virtual GiveCard | Usually within 1 to 2 business days | Sent by email; funds load on Monday, November 9; usable online or in stores with Apple Pay or Google Wallet |
| Physical GiveCard | Usually arrives in 2 to 3 weeks | Mailed with funds already loaded; you must create a GiveCard account to activate it |
Neither card can be used at ATMs or for direct bank deposits. The physical card also cannot be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Does the $100 Affect SNAP?
No. Propel says receiving the $100 will not affect your SNAP benefits. The payment is also a gift. You do not have to repay it.
What If You Still Need SNAP Help?
If you missed a SNAP deposit, check your EBT balance and contact your state SNAP office. SNAP is funded federally but administered by each state, so deposit dates and eligibility rules vary.
You can find your state’s official SNAP application or office through the USDA SNAP state directory. If you need food help now, call 211 or use the USDA food assistance resources to find local support.
What Are Propel and GiveDirectly?
Propel is a technology company that helps people who receive government benefits check their EBT balance, track deposits and find savings. GiveDirectly is a nonprofit that sends cash directly to people in need.
The two organizations partnered to identify affected families and send cash support. Propel seeded the fund with $1 million to help families buy food for Thanksgiving.
